The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., includes hayrides, kids' crafts, a petting zoo and live entertainment from the dance group Vibe, a magician, school bands and the School of Rock. The Build-a-Scarecrow competition begins at 11 a.m., with organizers supplying the straw, clothes and accessories.

It's sponsored by the village's special events commission and Arlington Heights Park District.
