Fox Meadow Elementary hosts McTeacher's Night

Teachers from Fox Meadow Elementary School volunteered behind the counter on Sept. 19 at the South Elgin McDonald's, 453 Redington Road, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for the South Elgin elementary school.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from the Fox Meadows McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to the Fox Meadow PTO. April Wende, Fox Meadow PTO representative, said the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night will go toward new playground equipment.

David Bear, owner - operator of the Redington Road McDonald's, and the Bear family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.

"McTeacher's Night is part of McDonald's larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community," Bear said.

"We are proud to serve the families of the Fox Meadow Elementary School community through the McTeacher's Night event. In addition to help provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community."

Bear donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. All pie donation proceeds went directly to Fox Meadow Elementary, as well as 20 percent of the school sales during this fun and exciting evening.
