Let's move on
Once again it's football season and some Daily Herald subscribers are again writing letters with the ill conceived notion that NFL players and now Nike are disprecting the flag, anthem and veterans.
I would like to suggest that they take the time to read an excellent perspective piece written by Army veteran, Salil Puri, headlined, "Veterans don't get to decide what respecting the flag means." It can easily found in a search online.
The flag and the anthem are just symbols. They are not what makes this country. They are not representative of this country. We are. Time to move on, folks.
