A lesson for all ages

I was talking to my 90-year-old dad about how upset I was with the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. My dad has one daughter (me) and four granddaughters. He understood my concerns as three of those granddaughters are my daughters. He agreed with me.

I told him there were a number of senators unsure on how they were going to vote on Kavanaugh's nomination. I told him that although they are not my senators, I was compelled to call them. He asked me for their names and phone numbers. He called each one explaining that although he was not one of their constituents, he had to call and ask that they vote no in order to protect a women's right to choose and to protect health care for all.

I have tried to bring my daughters up right explaining that they cannot complain unless they are willing to take action such as call and vote. I guess I know where I learned this. Thanks, Dad. You make me proud.
