Audubon program in Libertyville to focus on marsh, grassland birds

Grassland and marsh bird conservation will be the topic when the Lake County Audubon Society hosts an event from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.

Nat Miller, national Audubon director of conservation for Great Lakes and Upper Mississippi Flyway, will present "Reversing the Trends of Chicagoland's Most Threatened Birds - Audubon's Conservation Programs for Marsh and Grassland Birds."

Audubon is working with seven counties in the Chicago area to stabilize and grow grassland bird populations.

Under a new policy, doors will be open at 7:15 p.m. for attendees and lock at 7:45 p.m. Children are welcome.
