Stevenson 1, Zion-Benton 0: Camron Mahdavian scored in the first half off an assist from Anthony Skoridiks, as the Patriots prevailed in North Suburban action.
Zack Klaber stopped 5 shots in the net for Stevenson (5-2-1, 1-1).
Mundelein 2, Waukegan 1: Eddy Avila converted a penalty kick and Darren Gray scored off an assist from Camden Kowalski, as the Mustangs captured the North Suburban match.
Mundelein keeper Chris Villasenor had 6 saves.
Lake Zurich 4, Lake Forest 0: Aiman Naqvi scored twice for the Bears in the North Suburban contest.
Jaden McCreary and David Zaccarine also had goals. Zak Kaminski, Lucas Pytlak, Eric Rejent and Mikolaj Wierzbicki contributed assists.
Round Lake 4, Grant 1: Maquis Haywood and Tony Fonseca each had 2 goals for the Panthers in the Northern Lake County match.
Fonseca also had an assist.
Danny Talavera scored for Grant.
Grayslake Central 2, Lakes 2: The Northern Lake County match ended in a draw, as Lakes netted the equalizer in the second half.
Grayslake Central (1-9-1, 0-1-1) got goals from Jack Kulis and Dani Orozco.
"We played one heck of a game today," Grayslake Central coach Tom Hamilton said. "Lakes punished a couple sloppy clearances, but other than a few of those moments we defended well as a unit, controlled the bulk of the possession and tempo, and created some quality chances going forward. We're a little disappointed we didn't get the W, but we found our fire so to speak, and we've kept ourselves alive in conference. We still have work to do, but this was a big step in the right direction."
Wauconda 2, Grayslake North 1: Chase Hayden's unassisted goal in the second half was the difference in the Northern Lake County match.
Wauconda got its first goal from freshman Dalton Sperle, assisted by Hayden. Bulldogs keeper Preston Chartier made 9 saves.
Vernon Hills 2, Glenbrook North 1: The visiting Cougars won their Central Suburban League North Division opener, as Caros Aguilar and Dema Lebedev scored.
Keeper Nick Burrows made 8 saves for Vernon Hills (5-2-1).
"I thought it was an unbelievable team effort by our boys tonight," Cougars coach Mike McCaulou said. "To come in here and take one from a great program that has won our side of the conference many times was a big win for this team. GBN was big and fast up top, with some very technical players that we had to worry about. I thought we did a great job capitalizing on our chances in the first half and we stayed very organized and disciplined defensively throughout the entire match, which really ended up winning us the game in the end. The season is still young and we have much to be proud of tonight, but tomorrow is a new day and we have things we want to improve on still."
