Inaugural Explore Palatine set for Saturday

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its inaugural Explore Palatine event Saturday to encourage residents to shop in the village.

Nearly 60 businesses and organizations have registered to participate so far with sales, specials and other promotions. The list of participants can be viewed at explorepalatine.org.

"The purpose of this event is to encourage Palatine residents to support local businesses and organizations, and to help everyone understand the positive impact that this effort can have on Palatine," PACC Director Steve Gaus said in an announcement Tuesday. "By putting this spotlight on our treasured businesses and organizations, we are all working together to strengthen the entire community."

Event participants are being asked to display yellow balloons outside their locations on Saturday, and to share their support of Explore Palatine on social media pages by utilizing the hashtag and social media tags #ExplorePalatine and @PalatineChamber.
