Boys soccer

Glenbrook North 4, Grayslake Central 1: At the Northside College Showcase at New Trier, Glenbrook North got a win over Grayslake Central in the seventh place game.

"It's hard to believe a team of Glenbrook North's caliber is in the seventh place game, but that just shows how tough this tourney is," Grayslake Central coach Tom Hamilton said. "Both teams were struggling with heavy legs after a busy week, but it was a good game nonetheless. Lately we've been passing the ball well and creating some quality chances, but when you play the top teams you'll pay for your mistakes. We've learned a lot from these early games, and we're hoping that, with a little rest, we can build on the progress we're making and start getting results."

Dani Orozco scored the Rams' only goal.
