Enjoy 'Illinois Brews at Bowes' Sept. 8
Bowes Creek Country Club in Elgin will be the setting for the eighth annual Elgin Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund fundraiser, Illinois Brews @ Bowes, which will take place on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The Elgin Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund was created to provide financial assistance to young people in Elgin whose families could not afford to register them for recreation programs.
Every dollar brought in through this event goes directly into the Elgin Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund.
This fun-filled Brewfest will feature over 30 different craft and home brews, the majority of which are brewed right here in Illinois.
The event will be 4 to 8 p.m. on the lawn outside of Porter's Pub. At 5:30 p.m., the band, "It Takes Two", will take the stage and play through the end of the event. A raffle, featuring many valuable themed baskets, will be held.
Tickets purchased in advance are $35 for the Ample Ale Package, which includes beer tastings, snacks, and a souvenir beer glass.
The Designated Driver Package is $15 in advance and includes soft drinks and snacks.
The day of the event the cost of these tickets will increase by $10.
This year, there is also a VIP ticket, which provides early access at 3 p.m., appetizers, beer tastings, snacks, and a souvenir beer glass. VIP tickets will not be available for purchase on the day of the event.
Food trucks also will be available for food purchase.
Tickets can be purchased online at the event website which is ilbrewsatbowes.com or in person at The Centre of Elgin, Porters Pub, Bowes Creek Country Club, the Highlands of Elgin or Wing Park Golf Course.
The event website also has a listing of the great brews that will be served and the participating food trucks, including Revolution Brewing Co.-Chicago, Lagunitas Brewing Co., Two Brothers, Goose Island, On Tour Brewing Co., Hop Butcher for the World, Maui Brewing Co., Noon Whistle Brewing, 2 Fools Cider, and Scorched Earth Brewing Co. Silverado Home Brew Club will feature Russian Imperial Stout and other home brew varieties.
