Suspect charged in Naperville carjacking
Naperville police said Friday a 16-year-old Chicago resident has been arrested as a suspect in an armed carjacking.
Police said the carjacking occurred at 8 a.m. March 12 on the 2100 block of Allegre Circle.
Two carjackers, one displaying a handgun, approached the victim as he sat in his vehicle with his 4-year-old child, police said.
The pair demanded the man's cellphone and the keys to his red 2016 Nissan Rogue. The carjackers then fled in the vehicle, police said.
No one was injured.
The car was located, parked and unoccupied, in Chicago later that evening.
The juvenile, of the 1100 block of North Monitor Avenue, was arrested by Chicago police on Aug. 9 on unrelated charges. Police are still looking for the second carjacker.
