One-time NBA assistant DeGregorio joining Clemson women

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - New Clemson women's basketball coach Amanda Butler has added some NBA level experience to her staff with the addition of former Golden State assistant Jerry DeGregorio.

Butler announced the hire Wednesday.

DeGregorio spent from 2011 to 2014 as a Warriors assistant. He has also worked with the Los Angeles Clippers as the team's head of player of development and spent two seasons as head coach at Rhode Island.

Butler was hired in April to take over for Audra Smith.

Butler said DeGregorio's background and experience gives the Tigers a different perspective to draw on this season.
