Police looking for armed bank robber in Elgin

Elgin police are looking for a man who robbed a Chase bank and fired a shot outside Wednesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the bank robbery that occurred at 2:19 p.m. at the bank at 500 N. Shady Oaks Drive, police said on Facebook.

The man left on foot and is described as possibly a white male, medium build, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark sweatpants, police said.

A woman who answered the phone at the bank said she had no comment.

Police are asking people to call 911 if they have any information.
