Harrington Manor II Reopens After Summer Hiatus With Brand New Lines and Inspirations

After a summer hiatus, Harrington Manor II at 25 W. Palatine Road in Palatine will be reopening its doors for the upcoming holiday season - with new product lines and home décor inspirations. A grand reopening event is set for Friday, September 7 and on Saturday, September 8, 2018, which coincides with the 'Explore Palatine' date September 8. This initiative is an outgrowth of the Think Local First campaign, and is supported by the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Palatine Business Association. It encourages Palatine residents to support local businesses on this day and whenever they can.

Harrington II, and the businesses' flagship location just steps away at 16 S. Bothwell Street, are both filled with seasonal items for fall, as well as for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas entertaining and decorating.

During the two-day grand reopening event, anyone who steps in the doors of Harrington Manor or Harrington Manor II can enter to win a raffle prize, and no purchase is necessary. Prizes will consist of a Nora Fleming gift set, gift certificates and a seasonal basket containing select fall décor items.

The hours for the event will be 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, which will include a wine tasting from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. by d'Vine Wine and Gifts, who will also be giving away in-store coupons. The Saturday event hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Since 2000, Harrington Manor has been the go-to destination in downtown Palatine for home décor and accessories for the holidays, and year-round. Harrington Manor II, which originally opened in the fall of 2016, is in a 125-year-old Tudor chalet-style building that boasts 2,000 square feet of display space. There is a strong emphasis on holiday décor items, which are beautifully displayed in the home-like setting.

Owner Vicki Ruetsche says the location helps customers envision how items would fit into their own homes. "We created an atmosphere that would inspire holiday decorating ideas. Along with the décor, we have created a 'home for the holidays' vibe inside of this very special location that our customers absolutely love," she said.

The building that houses Harrington Manor II has a charm all on its own. It was originally a framed house built in the late 1870s that was later added onto, and is complete with period-style window cranks, detailed molding and trim work. Original lead glass and sub-pine wood floors are located throughout the store.

To accommodate customers' busy schedules through the fall and winter holiday seasons, both locations will be open seven days between October 1-December 31, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

New products are arriving daily and include the new mini Nora Fleming platter pieces, football helmets, and a limited Bear Hug wagon; proceeds from sales benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Beatriz Ball serving pieces that can go from freezer, to oven to table, are also on display. Specialty candles from Illume and Magnolia Home, velvet plush pumpkins with designer fabrics, new holiday water lanterns and Pudus slipper socks (one of Oprah's "favorite things") are available, in addition to dozens of other items.
