Voters can apply for mail ballot from Kane County Clerk's Office
Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham reminds residents who plan to vote in the Nov. 6 general election can request an official vote by mail ballot from the Kane County Clerk's Office. Per state law, ballots requested will not be mailed until Sept. 27.
"The Clerk's Office works to make voting as convenient and easy as possible for Kane County residents. One of the most convenient methods of voting is possible with a vote by mail ballot," Cunningham said. "Voting by mail is easy and fast. With a simple request, you can apply to receive the ballot mailed to your home and avoid the possibility of having to wait in line to vote on Election Day."
Individuals who wish to vote by mail can request an application in one of the following ways:
• Online: www.kanecountyclerk.org
• By phone: (630) 232-5990, or
• In person: at the Kane County Clerk's Office, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Building B, Geneva, IL 60134 or 5 E. Downer Place, Suite F, Aurora, IL 60505.
The Nov. 6 election will be the first election within the City of Aurora to be administered by the Kane County Clerk's Office.

Cunningham added, "Residents who wish to vote on paper rather than on a machine can request a vote by mail ballot and vote on paper from the comfort of home or anywhere they wish. No excuse is necessary to request a vote by mail ballot."
Offices to be elected at the November general election include all statewide officers (governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, treasurer, and comptroller); all representatives in Congress; some state senators; all state representatives; some judges; county clerk, county sheriff, and county treasurer; regional superintendent of schools, some county board members; and Wasco Sanitary District.
A list of all candidates on the ballot is available at www.kanecountyclerk.org.
The last day a ballot can be requested in Nov. 1. Ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day.
