Gurnee Park District to host Pop-Up Pickleball for adults

Pickleball is a paddle sport combining elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. With new pickleball courts at O'Plaine Park, the Gurnee Park District looks forward to making the game available for every age and ability level.

Lena Gaetz, Pickleball Ambassador for Northern Lake County will offer free opportunities to learn to play.

• 10:30 a.m. to noon, Aug. 17.

• 10:30 a.m. to noon, Aug. 25.

If participants do not have their own equipment, the Gurnee Park District will provide free rental options. It is highly recommended that participants bring a water bottle and wear athletic clothing. Although pickleball is a sport for all ages, Gaetz looks forward to teaching the adult population, 21 years of age and older at these "Pop-Up Pickleball" events.

O'Plaine Park is located at the corner of O'Plaine Road and Russell Avenue, Gurnee.
