Make sure all are heard

I read about the new Tri-County Access Project which is responsible for studying traffic in all of Lake County, an eastern portion of McHenry County and a northern part of Cook County. Since the major part of the study area is Lake County, and probably all the recommended improvements will be in Lake County, I was quite surprised that the sole public open house was held in Lakemoor. This location was far from the majority of residents and current infrastructure. Why did I have to travel 20 miles to the western edge of Lake County on an ozone alert day to meet and talk with the project team? What kind of public input did that encourage? I don't see any scheduled open houses for Highland Park, Libertyville, Waukegan, all of which need transportation improvements.

Anything the tollway does will be financed by the "cash cow" around I-94, which means by mostly the residents of the eastern part of Lake County. So, let's be sure our needs are considered along with our cash.
