New principal at Barrington Unit District 220

Heather Schumacher has been hired as the new principal of Barbara B. Rose Elementary School in Barrington. It's her second time with Barrington Area Unit District 220. Board members approved Schumacher to replace Derek Straight, who accepted a principal position in another school system, officials said. Before joining District 220, Schumacher worked as a principal at Elm Place School in North Shore School District 112. Her resume also includes a previous stop at District 220, serving as a summer school principal, as well as a language arts, math and social studies teacher at Barrington Middle School Station Campus.
