No one injured in Bartlett house fire

No one was injured during a fire on the second story of a Bartlett home early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Firefighters arrived on the 100 block of Amherst Drive in Bartlett at around 1:28 a.m. and found smoke coming from a second-floor bedroom wall, according to a Bartlett Fire Protection District news release Tuesday afternoon.

Fire crews attacked the blaze both with hoses outside and inside the house. Firefighters had to cut open walls and ceilings in the bedroom to expose the fire so it could be extinguished.

The fire was declared under control at 1:42 a.m.

The home was habitable after the fire. What caused the fire remains under investigation.

The blaze was fought by 23 firefighters. Units from the Schaumburg Fire Department, Hanover Park Fire Department and the Streamwood Fire Department assisted battling the fire.
