21st Anniversary of Lincolnshire Art Festival
The Lincolnshire Art Festival will return to the Village Green on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 11 and 12. At this, the 21st annual festival, 100 of the top juried artists from around the country will showcase and sell original work in a variety of mediums and price points including ceramics, glass, furniture, photography, jewelry, mixed media, drawing, fiber and more. Festival hours are 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free.
The Lincolnshire Art Festival features something for art lovers of all ages, including live music, child-friendly activities, interactive artist demonstrations, and booth chats to let guests learn more about the artists and their work.
In addition to the artwork, festivalgoers will enjoy food from on-site and neighboring restaurants like Magic Circle Crepe, as well as live musical performances from Cirrus Falcon throughout the weekend.
Children will enjoy art activities including art fest bingo, spin art, coloring and a graffiti wall. New this year is the Lincolnshire "Hands Together" Mural Project. All ages are invited to add their hand print to a community mural showing that Lincolnshire is a community of unique individuals that is stronger and more unified together. Each participant will get an 8-by-8-inch square and a choice of paint colors to create art using their hand print. The hand prints will become part of a mural which will be displayed in the community. Painting can be messy, so dress accordingly. The Lincolnshire "Hands Together" project will take place from noon to 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
Those who want to be part of the art will have an opportunity to step right into a famous painting and take a free selfie. Visit the Amdur Productions' ArtZipper booth where a special green screen will be in place for attendees to be part of such world-renowned pieces as "Paris Street; Rainy Day" by Gustave Caillebotte, "Starry Night" by Vincent van Gogh, "Whistler's Mother" by James Abbott McNeill Whistler, and several others.
Attendees who are 18 years and older are invited to take photos during the fest anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 11 or 12 and submit them via email to FestPhotoChallenge@amdurproductions.com. All photos must be taken during that time to be considered, and must be received by 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19.
