Enjoy outdoor movie night in Palatine

Palatine Park District presents a free outdoor movie night Thursday, Aug. 9. Pre-movie activities, including a craft and a free raffle, will start at 7 p.m.

The Academy Award winning Disney Pixar hit "COCO" will be shown at Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 256 E. Palatine Road, beginning at dusk, approximately 8:15 p.m. Coolers, blankets, and chairs are encouraged, and concessions will be available for purchase at Pizza Bella's Poolside Café, including soft drinks and popcorn.

According to Palatine Park District's Cultural Arts Coordinator Ashley Schiavone, "We're happy to provide these fun and free events to the community. With school starting soon, the outdoor movie night provides families with a fun way to celebrate the end of summer while experiencing our parks in a unique way."

Disney Pixar's "COCO" is the story of an aspiring musician, Miguel, who is confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music as he enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.

Outdoor Family Movie Night is sponsored by Eric Esch - State Farm, Arlington Heights, and Verbic Orthodontics, Palatine.
