Northwest Suburan Bar Association hosts Day at the Races

Submitted by Northwest Suburban Bar Association Foundation

Members of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, including attorneys, judges and honored guests, will gather at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Arlington Park racetrack for an afternoon of thoroughbred racing - and raising money for scholarships for aspiring lawyers.

Sponsored by the bar association's foundation board, the afternoon event will take place in the Million Room at Arlington Park. Guests will dine indoors overlooking the track, while having access to outdoor stadium seats to get closer to the action.

They invite members of the public to join them. Tickets are $50 each and will include two food items and two drinks, as well as the chance to mingle with members of the local legal community.

The foundation is the charitable arm of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. One of its highest priorities is making scholarships available to young lawyers.

The scholarship is available to law school students currently attending an accredited Illinois law school who reside in the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division - which includes Lake, Kane, DuPage, Cook, Will, Kendall, Grundy and LaSalle counties - and who have demonstrated a commitment to the highest scholastic standards.

Members of the bar association themselves maintain a scholarship in the name of the Hon. Timothy C. Evans, chief judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, as an additional means to empower local students.

Obtain tickets or sponsorship information, by calling the Northwest Suburban Bar Association at (847) 621-2378 or visit www.nwsba.org.
