Civil War re-enactment coming to Lombard
The Lombard Historical Society will sponsor its eighth annual Lombard Civil War Re-enactment from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, at Four Seasons Park, Finley Road and 16th Street.
The event features Stanford's Battery re-enactors portraying Confederate and Union soldiers in a living-history encampment depicting an 1863-era military campsite. It also will feature military drills and demonstrations, cannon fire, Civil War-era music and other interactive camp activities.
Skirmishes between the North and South take place at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. both days. Suggested $5 donation to benefit Lombard Historical Society. For details, visit lombardhistory.org.
