Edens Spur construction to reduce travel to 1 lane
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (AP) - Illinois Tollway officials are notifying travelers of lane reductions this week beginning on Interstate 94, north of Chicago.
Officials say work to reconstruct the Edens Spur between Pfingsten Road and the Edens Expressway includes removing and replacing existing pavement.
That means traffic on the Edens Spur will be reduced to one lane in both directions beginning Thursday. That will be between Pfingsten Road and Skokie Boulevard.
The outside shoulder will remain open during this stage estimated to last three weeks.
Electronic message signs will be in place to alert drivers. Up to 57,000 vehicles daily use the Edens Spur.
A full explanation of ongoing construction is available on the Tollway website .
