LAKE FOREST - IDEX Corp. said strong orders and sales helped boost the company second quarter revenues 11 percent over the same period last year.

The company reported orders during the period were $639.5 million - up 9 percent compared with the prior year period - while sales were $634.4 million, up 11 percent compared with the prior year period.

IDEX, which manufactures a variety of products globally through 40 diverse businesses, said its Fluid & Metering Technologies division contributed 38 percent of sales, while its Health & Science Technologies division accounted for 36 percent of sales and Fire & Safety/Diversified Products division represented 26 percent of sales.

The Company noted its June acquisition of Phantom Controls, a pump systems manufacturer, that will be a part of its Fire & Safety/Diversified Products segment. It also this month acquired Finger Lakes Instrumentation, a technology company that designs and produces high speed/sensitivity CCD and CMOS cameras and related automation for the astronomy and life science markets. It will be a part if the Health & Science Technologies segment.
