Two men shot near Des Plaines early Sunday

Two men were shot and hospitalized in unincorporated Maine Township near Des Plaines early Sunday morning, police said.

The Cook County sheriff's office is investigating the shootings of a 40-year-old man and 39-year-old man at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the 10000 block of Holly Lane, spokesman Sam Randall said.

The 40-year-old man was brought to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by paramedics of the North Maine Fire Protection District, Randall said. The 39-year-old arrived there by private vehicle.

Their current conditions were not available Tuesday, but both survived their injuries, Randall said.

No one has been charged or taken into custody.

Among the issues investigators are working to determine is whether the men were shot indoors or outdoors on Holly Lane, Randall said.
