Learn, think before voting for Congress

Why are people not embarrassed by Congress? Do people not know that the Congress and Senate are supposed to run this country? Congressmen fight like children and cannot compromise or work together to get anything done. Some rarely show up to do any work. Congress is responsible for the mess this country is in. Congress is a laughingstock and a house of clowns.

The president cannot do anything about Congress; he just gets all the blame for everything. If a president tries to go around a bad Congress, as Obama did, then he risks violating the Constitution. A Congress that does not do its job is a serious threat to democracy.

The public should be embarrassed by itself. Many do not know how the government works or who their congressman is. They are led blindly by the rhetoric and lies of politicians, as well as manipulations of the media. They vote without knowing anything about who the candidates are. They are blinded and misled by campaign ads that are full of lies.

Pieces of issues are exaggerated while the important information is hidden. The politicians love this because an educated public would be very dangerous to them.

People should strive to be educated and demand that candidates tell who they really are and what they intend to do if elected. Negative and slanderous ads should be condemned. An ignorant and blind public is the true threat to Democracy. The survival of democracy is dependent upon intelligence, and far too many people are not acting intelligently.
