Former Wheeling man accused of sexually assaulting girl

A 33-year-old former Wheeling man was ordered held on $1 million bail Wednesday on charges he sexually abused a young girl from December 2011 through January 2014.
Isaac Sanchez-Ibanez, now of Highland Park, was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault. Prosecutors say he began abusing the girl when she was about 9 and continued until she was about 12.
According to prosecutors, Sanchez-Ibanez threatened the girl by telling her if she told anyone he would do the same thing to her younger sister.
Sanchez-Ibanez next appears in court on Aug. 9.
