Enjoy music under the stars in Arlington Heights

Get your summer on while enjoying a wide offering of free music concerts presented by the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. From Latin jazz to breezy folk-pop tunes, here's a look at the lineup.

Nights at the lake

Presented in partnership with the Arlington Heights Park District, this popular concert series returns to the Arlington Lakes Golf Club, 1211 S. New Wilke Road. Bring your own seating. Cash bar; picnics encouraged. Rain location: Hendrickson Room, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave.

SueƱos Latin Jazz Quartet, 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19: Music from across the Latino diaspora, combining jazz improvisation with rhythms and melodies of the Caribbean, South and Central America and Spain.

Peach's Beach Party, 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16: Celebrate the spirit of Jimmy Buffett. Hawaiian shirts optional.

At the library

Music Throughout the Americas, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25: Join Wesley Hixson and Edgar Huerta on a musical journey through the sounds of Latin America. Hendrickson Room, Arlington Heights library. Register at www.ahml.info.

Laura Doherty and the Heartbeats, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28: Breezy folk-pop tunes from Doherty's new High Five album as well as old favorites. This upbeat, interactive concert will have kids dancing and clapping. Ages 3 and up with an adult. Hendrickson Room, Arlington Heights library. Register at www.ahml.info.
