Trade war not the answer
The stock market is dropping due to fears of the trade war. Boeing, Caterpillar, John Deere and farmers are worried.
Trump thinks a trade deficit makes us a loser, not true. We have had deficit since 1976 and right now our unemployment rate is at an all-time low. We have the highest standard of living in the world. The other nations have been subsidizing us for years. We consume more goods than we produce and the cost of living stays down on goods we purchase. We create jobs in other countries but foreign countries invest more jobs here than we create in other countries. Why? They trust that the U.S. dollar will stay strong. We have the technical ability to produce more cars and steel with far fewer workers.
So the economy is growing, the unemployment is falling, but trade deficits are bad. So, let's try to understand. Harley Davidson is closing its plant in Milwaukee and those jobs are going to Europe. Boeing is worried about losing business to Air Bus. This is just the start.
The trade deficit has actually helped us. Oh and how many jobs have the Trumps created in communist China?
