Caldecott winner to visit Lake Villa District Library

Matthew Cordell, the 2018 Caldecott Award winner, will visit Lake Villa District Library at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 8.

The Caldecott Medal is the highest honor an American artist can receive for children's book illustration. Cordell won the 2018 medal for his book "The Wolf In The Snow," which tells the story of a wolf cub and little girl lost in a snowstorm and how they find their way home.

In addition to discussing his award-winning book, Cordell will also share how he creates characters and will do a live drawing demonstration. Book sale and signing will follow the program.
