Elk Grove Village to Begin Stream Village Board Meetings on YouTube

EGTV, the Elk Grove Village government access channel, has once again expanded options for viewers to see their government in action through live presentation of Village Board Meetings.

Since 1985, Elk Grove Village has provided its residents with live coverage of its Village Board meetings over Comcast Cable channel 6 and later on AT&T U-Verse channel 99. In 2011, live streaming coverage was expanded to the Village website at www.eg-tv.org, and past meetings were made available through the EGTV on-demand site at egtv.viebit.com.

EGTV has continued to expand options apace with new technology over the past few years. In March 2017, EGTV launched a Roku Channel to provide service to viewers who have "cut the cord" by moving from traditional cable to streaming only set-top boxes. Since March 2018, EGTV has also been presenting live streaming of Village Board meetings on Facebook Live. And now, beginning July 17, 2018, EGTV will live stream Village Board meetings on YouTube Live.

The Village has worked hard to provide different cablecast and streaming opportunities to meet the ever-changing expectations of our viewers. Expanded event streaming and on-demand availability of Village Board Meetings through these various channels allows the Village to reach residents where they are, providing convenient access to important Village news and proceedings.

The primary mission of EGTV is to provide residents with timely government information, and Roku, Facebook, and YouTube all provide new avenues to achieve that goal. Residents can now watch Village Board meetings wherever they are on any device.

The live streaming of Village Board meetings can be seen on YouTube by going to www.youtube.com and searching for "EGTV live stream", or on Facebook Live by going to the EGTV Facebook page at www.facebook.com/EGTV6. EGTV also cablecasts and live streams Elk Grove Park Board meetings.
