Palatine's Hometown Fest carries through heat, storms

Another day of scorching temperatures, interrupted by late afternoon storms, couldn't keep a hearty crowd of funseekers from Palatine's Community Park on Sunday for the third day of Hometown Fest.

Carnival rides, a craft and business expo and live musical performances were among the highlights of the day.

The fest continues Monday with more rides and games, plus scheduled musical performances from the Feuding Hillbillys and Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press. For a full schedule, visit palatinejaycees.org/hometown-fest.
