We are better than this

If you are a U.S. citizen today, it is not a time to laugh. It is a time to cry: for the people of Puerto Rico and our abandonment of them; for the innocent children being imprisoned at the Mexican border and being shot in our schools; for the corruption that has permeated every level of our government and many of our largest private corporations; for a society that values wealth above all else; for a reckless government regime that is tearing apart alliances and goodwill with countries throughout our world, and is causing anger and division within our borders.

If you are a U.S. citizen today, it is a time to be ashamed; to be afraid of what the future might hold; to be courageous and speak out. Silence implies compliance and is interpreted as agreement by the group in power making decisions and changing laws.

It is time to say, "Enough.

We are better than this."
