The Twins won't have far to travel for this series. They're coming off a series against the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Twins entered Thursday second in the AL Central, but far back of first-place Cleveland. The Twins are far down in the key offensive categories in the AL and rank ninth in ERA (4.23). Eddie Rosario entered Thursday with a line of .312/.351/.567 with 93 hits, 17 homers and 50 RBI. Eduardo Escobar was at .288/.340/.550 with 12 homers and 48 RBI. Onetime Cub Fernando Rodney had 17 saves. The Twins will recall Mejia from Class AAA Rochester to start Saturday. Former Cubs coaches Gene Glynn and James Rowson are on Twins manager Paul Molitor's staff. The late-afternoon start Friday is to give the Cubs a break as they fly back from Los Angeles. The Cubs on Thursday began a stretch of nine straight afternoon games.
