Mundelein Community Days to start Thursday

Mundelein Public Works Department crews were busy making last-minute preparations in Kracklauer Park Wednesday for the annual Mundelein Community Days.

Workers set up VIP area fencing, moved picnic tables, hooked up electricity to food and beverage tents and unloaded bags of ice.

The carnival rides and game area is ready to the east across Seymour Avenue in the Santa Maria del Popolo Church parking lot.

Hours for the festival are 4 to 11 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday. In addition to the carnival, the free festival includes fireworks, a parade, food, music, contests, demonstrations and children's activities. Admission is free.
