Galena Canning Company leaves Long Grove

Galena Canning Company no longer has a Long Grove retail store where you can buy its salsas, relishes and sauces.

Open since 2014, Galena Canning exited the village about a month ago, said Ryan Messner, vice president of the Downtown Long Grove Business Association's executive committee. He said he's confident the visible space will be filled.

Galena Canning four years ago took over the space that was vacated by Trio Boutique in the Mill Pond development on Robert Parker Coffin Road. A note on the door informs visitors that some Galena Canning products can be found at the neighboring Broken Earth Winery.

Visitors to Galena can't miss the company's two stores across from each other on the city's Main Street strip. Galena Canning is known for its dizzying array of samples in the shops.
