Alleged police misconduct may cost Chicago $6 million

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago aldermen are considering paying out $6 million to settle two lawsuits alleging police misconduct.
The city's law department is asking the aldermen to approve two settlements worth millions of dollars each, according to the Chicago Tribune .
One alleges that a Chicago police officer pointed a gun at a 3-year-old girl, leading to psychological distress.
The other accuses detectives of ignoring evidence that established a suspect's innocence in a 1981 robbery and gang rape. The suspect spent 20 years in prison before a federal judge overturned his conviction.
