Let's remember what America stands for
Let's see if I understand this migrant controversy.
The president has referred to the migrants from Mexico, Central and South America as murderers and rapists.
He's characterized them as vermin looking to infest America.
And his loyal supporters enthusiastically support his policy of zero tolerance, including the separation of children from their parents at the border.
On the other hand, why are these migrants leaving their homes and heading to what used to be called "The Land of Opportunity?"
To flee violence, poverty and corruption. To find a better life and create a future for their children.
Who is responsible for that violence, poverty, and corruption back in their home countries?
The drug cartels, whose power and wealth comes from billions in drug sales.
Who are by far the biggest customer of the cartels? Americans!
Just some food for thought as we head toward the Fourth of July. And maybe ponder what values and ideals America really stands for.
