Logic, pets and markets

I see many local Farmers Markets allow and encourage patrons to bring their 4-legged pals to the markets. As a long standing dog owner, I would not bring my beloved pals with me if you paid me. No way. The logic is simple. As well trained as my pooches are, they are animals, pack animals and anything can happen. Good, bad or otherwise. I'm at these markets to purchase food stuffs, walk around and have a bit of fun at the same time - not to make my dogs, other pooches or vendors/patrons/kids take a chance to the negative on an otherwise pleasant visit. I'm sorry but it seems rather self-serving to bring a dog to the markets, as my schnauzers have told me so. Thanks, Toby and Sammy, for the reassurance of logic.
