Round Lake Park woman accused of threatening to kill relative
A Round Lake Park woman was charged with aggravated assault and domestic battery after threatening to kill a relative, police said.
Police were called about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to the home of Jill Costello, 59, on the 400 block of N. Prospect Drive, after the relative called 911 saying she was threatening to kill him, officials said.
When they arrived, police said they found the 66-year-old man hiding near the front door.
The victim told authorities he and Costello had been arguing when Costello told him she was "going to kill him and feed him to her dogs," officials said.
Police said Costello then grabbed a kitchen knife and told the victim she was going to stab him in the chest, but the victim fought her off. As the victim was calling 911, police said Costello jumped on his back, grabbing him by his hair before the victim fought her off a second time.
Police and paramedics arrived and took Costello to the hospital, where she was evaluated, according to police.
Costello was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of domestic battery. She was in court Thursday, and her bond was set at $20,000.
