Batavia Dance Team gives back at Kane County Relay for Life

The varsity and junior varsity dance teams at Batavia High School are giving back to the community by walking in the 2018 Kane County Relay For Life on Friday, June 1.

With nearly $3,500 raised, the team reached Bronze status as the third highest out of 32 fundraising teams the American Cancer Society.

During the event, the team, with help from Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke, cheered on survivors and caregivers and performed an inspiring lyrical routine to Andra Day's "Rise Up." They also walked through the night to rally support.

This is the 11th year of participation in the event for the team and is among its many philanthropic activities conducted throughout the year.
