Probation, anger management for former Little City employees who struck boy

Two former employees of Little City - a Palatine facility that assists children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities - pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery Tuesday, court records show.

In exchange for their guilty pleas, Lisa Archer, 40, of Palatine and Ronkeia Harper, 23, of Forest Park were sentenced to 24 months probation and community service, fined $239 and ordered to participate in anger management counseling, prosecutors said.

Authorities say Archer and Harper struck an 11-year-old boy with special needs in December 2016. Little City immediately fired the women and contacted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. The DCFS investigation led to Archer's and Harper's arrests in February 2017, authorities said.
