Cash Box Kings to headline Blues & Roots Festival
The 2018 Blues & Roots on Water Street Festival will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday, June 9, at the Kiss the Sky and Water Street Studios complex, 160 S. Water St., Batavia.
The festival is a one-day, two-stage, five-act, indoor, limited-ticket, intimate festival featuring some of the finest in roots, Americana and blues that the Chicago area and Austin, Texas, have to offer.
The headliner on the Blues Stage will be Alligator recording artist the Cash Box Kings. Immediately prior to the Kings, Delmark Records recording artist Dave Specter, just coming from his Chicago Blues Festival performance, will be setting the mood and tone on the Blues Stage located within the Kiss the Sky.
Multigenre, three-piece virtuoso musicians Anderlik, Otto & Church will kick things off in the Roots Lounge in the Dock Room of Water Street Studios. Austin, Texas, roots band Beth Lee and the Breakups will follow, while Chicago's very own Devil in a Woodpile will close out the evening in hoedown fashion in the Roots Lounge, located in the loading dock area adjacent to Water Street Studios.
