Lake Villa holds Celebration of Summer June 9
The village of Lake Villa will host its 18th annual Celebration of Summer on Saturday, June 9. The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m. at Lehmann Park, at 148 Cedar Ave., Lake Villa.
Admission to the event is free. Nonperishable food items for the Lake Villa Township Food Pantry will be collected.
Carnival games and, thanks to the Lake Villa Library, a 40-foot inflatable obstacle course will be open from approximately 6 to 9 p.m. Guests can bring picnic food or purchase food, beer and wine from Bauer's Catering; the Lake Villa Republican Club's ever popular Nachos; and ice cream and Hawaiian Shaved Ice from a Tropical Chill ice cream truck.
Bring blankets, chairs, etc. for outdoor concert entertainment from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. This year's band, Deja Vu, will fill the park with a variety of classic rock, Motown, hits of the '80s and '90s and Top 40 music. Deja Vu has been performing for corporate events, weddings, festivals and various public music venues across the nation since 1997, and provide a nonstop, high energy dance show.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks display beginning by Spectrum Pyrotechnics at dusk.
While Lehmann Park is a dog friendly park, guests are asked to refrain from bringing dogs for this event
