Vulcan employees donate $1,000 to Bartlett fire district charity

Vulcan Materials Company employees in Bartlett who won the business' annual "Environmental Challenge" competition donated the $1,000 they won to the Bartlett Fire Protection District's "Ignite the Courage" charity.

The nonprofit agency was created by Bartlett firefighters to provide resources and inspiration for community members who are struggling with difficult situations.

The Vulcan employees showed up in their safety gear Wednesday morning to present the donation to firefighters at the fire station.

In Illinois, Vulcan Materials Company employs more than 340 people at 26 facilities, three of which are underground mines.
