Teen saved by CPR at Naperville beach

A teenage boy was able to communicate with paramedics after receiving CPR at a Naperville beach early Thursday evening, according to the Naperville Fire Department.

Deputy Fire Chief Andrew Dina said crews were dispatched to Centennial Beach, 500 W. Jackson Ave., at 5:41 p.m. Responders arrived to find the beach's life guards administering CPR to a teenage boy who had already been pulled from the water.

Dina said that responders were able to find the teenager's pulse, and by the time he was loaded into the ambulance, his condition had improved enough that he was able to communicate with the paramedics. He was then taken to the hospital.
