Music journalist killed after leaving concert

A popular YouTube host and music journalist was killed after leaving a concert in the city early Thursday morning.

Zachary Stoner was driving about 1:30 a.m. in the 700 block of South Clark Street when someone fired at him from another vehicle, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Stoner, of south suburban Harvey, was struck in the head by a bullet and crashed, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead three hours later. Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.

Stoner was known for his interviews with young Chicago rappers that were posted to his YouTube channel, zacktv1.
