Kirk Players to present 'Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike'

Kirk Players will present "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" by Christopher Durang, the raucous, fun-filled, 2013 Tony Award-winning comedy. The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9; and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Mundelein High School Theatre.

The story revolves around Vanya and Sonia, two middle-aged siblings who never left their childhood home, having stayed to care for their aging parents and finding themselves stuck after their parents passing.

Meanwhile, their movie star sister, Masha, has been parading around the world, lauding in her fame and wealth. A surprise visit home by Masha and her boyfriend, Spike, sends the house into disarray, upsetting the siblings' tenuous balance and shining light on regrets, rivalries and blessings in disguise.
