Friends of Lake Villa District Library award scholarships

Winners of the Friends of Lake Villa District Library Scholarships were awarded recently at the library. Three Lake Villa Township high school seniors received $1000 to pursue a two- or four-year degree at any accredited college, university or vocational school. Nearly 30 applications were received for the scholarship program's inaugural year.

The recipients were Erika McCormick and Collin Feustel of Lakes Community High School and Shayla Hertzke of Grayslake North High School.

Established in 1977, the Friends actively promote community awareness of the library and provide funds for library equipment and programs.

Lake Villa District Library enriches life in our community by connecting people with resources, services and each other.
