Let's share blessings of all our faiths

In his May 16 letter to the editor, Charles Danyus asks, "Is [America] big enough for the both of us?" In other words, is the United States big enough for Christianity and any other religion?

Of course it is big enough, if we share. Jesus taught us this with the parable of the loaves and fishes. Five thousand people came to see Jesus, and instead of sending them home at dinnertime, he had them sit in smaller groups and blessed their food. Everyone was fed, not by loaves and fishes falling from the sky, but by people who had food sharing with those who didn't. Sharing is the true miracle.

And Jesus used the parable of the Good Samaritan to teach us that we should share, even with those who aren't "in our tribe."

I say to Mr. Danyus, let's not worry about who's got the biggest God in town. Instead, let's share our blessings with our neighbors, as Jesus taught.
